We
also support the community through contribution of our products
and services. An example is our substantial donation of
Don Smallgoods products to Mission
Australia to provide assistance to those in need and
our product donations to the
Children First Foundation.
GWF ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
George Weston Foods Limited (GWF) respects
the environment and accepts its responsibility to conduct
all activities with due concern for their environmental
impact.
GWF is committed to reducing the environmental
impact of our businesses while continuing to provide high
quality products and services that meet the needs of our
consumers. We will do this in a sustainable manner through
continuous improvement in the environmental performance
of our activities.
NATIONAL PACKAGING COVENANT
GWF recognises the environmental
imperitives underpinning the National
Packaging Covenant and commits its support to the Covenant
- the national framework for the management and minimisation
of the environmental impacts of consumer packaging in Australia.
GWF became a Covenant signatory in May 2001 with our Covenant
membership covering all operations under the GWF Covenant
umbrella. The company has contributed to the transitional
funding arrangements scheme and will continue with this
support.
