George Weston Foods: Our Operations

GWF is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers. We have a big operations base, employing close to 9,000 employees in close to 60 sites across Australia and New Zealand.

We believe in lean central offices, with turbocharged, efficient and sustainable operational sites.

GWF’s operations are spread across six major business streams which are structured into six divisions.

Our Baking division is responsible for manufacturing, selling and distributing bread and baking products, including rolls, cakes, buns, crumpets, muffins, pikelets, hotcakes, bread mixes, bread-making flour, specialty breads and breadcrumbs.

We also produce and distribute other bakery products including frozen par-bake rolls, garlic bread and pizza bases for the retail and food service industries.

Some of our key consumer brands include Tip Top®, Bürgen®, Golden™, Noble Rise® and Bazaar® Breads of the World™.

Cereform™ is a market leader in innovative and quality baking ingredients. This division of GWF prepares and distributes cake and baking premixes to a range of customers in all commercial and industrial sectors. Our products are well-trusted, reliable and consistent, and we employ qualified bakery, technical sales and marketing specialists.

The DON-KRC™ division produces and distributes fresh and packaged smallgoods products, including strasburg, salami, kabana, frankfurts, ham, bacon, fresh sausages, cheese and other specialty products.

DON®, our flagship consumer brand is distributed within major retail stores and via route customers. We also produce KR Castlemaine™ and Watsonia™ and supply meat and dairy products direct to the food service sector.

George Weston Technologies™ conducts research, analysis and product development to ensure GWF is an innovative and intelligent business.

Our understanding of ingredients and food processes, along with our links with Associated British Foods companies worldwide, give us uncompromised skill in designing and customising products for our customers.

Additionally, George Weston Technologies™ contains our customer facing Consumer Information Centre, to ensure we stay connected with our consumers.

Jasol® is a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality cleaning and industrial chemicals. Jasol® specialises in hygiene services and provides complete and customised cleaning solutions for commercial kitchens, factories, supermarkets and hospitals, as well as all of the GWF sites.

Jasol® also has a strong presence throughout Australia and New Zealand in the hospitality industry through pubs, clubs and hotels and has also recently expanded into China.

We’re able to offer true value by partnering with our customers. We tailor products and chemical dispensing solutions to suit specific customer requirements. As a leading edge manufacturer, Jasol® maintains a commitment to the environment by producing biodegradable products and eco-friendly solutions.

Weston Cereal Industries™ (WCI) is one of the biggest and most successful Australian flour producers. WCI manufacture, sell and distribute a complete range of flours, retail flour products, bread mixes, semolinas, rye products, bread improvers and bread ingredients, cake and pastry mixes, pan-greasing emulsions, soy flour, wheat, specialty grain and fibre mixes.

Weston Cereal Industries™ also distribute a comprehensive range of dry ingredients to the small bakery and patisserie markets. Brands include a marketed range of flours such as Tip Top®, Pro-max™, Hyfibre™ and Victory®.

WCI also includes market-leading animal feed brands Weston Animal Nutrition™ and Wesfeeds™. These brands produce high quality feed for a wide range of commercial livestock.
