GWF’s Commitment to Our People

At GWF, we take our people’s careers seriously and provide opportunities for growth.

We want our people to learn, develop and grow. Our competency framework, “The Weston Way” is the platform on which careers are built at GWF. The Weston Way guides our people to live our values, be the best they can be, achieve, collaborate and build the future of GWF.

We actively encourage our people to strive for high personal performance by setting stretch objectives. GWF have regular reviews of our talent and succession planning. We recognise the achievements of our people through our incentive schemes and our Westons’ Best recognition program.

Our People Agenda

In addition to job-specific training, GWF offers a Skills Set program for all employees across all divisions, aimed at imparting the fundamental skills of leadership. We have a development program specifically designed for our senior leadership group. We also have Cadet programs, internships and apprenticeships offered in all areas of the business, across a wide range of disciplines.

Our Graduate Management Trainee program runs for two years and is designed to nurture and groom our future leaders. The program offers our graduates a unique ‘taste’ of the overall business by rotating through different functional areas across the various divisions. Each rotation lasts from three to six months and is regarded as a real job, where learning outcomes are established at the outset and evaluated.

There are many other opportunities within GWF that can aid in career development. For example, employees can extend their current roles by training in new skill areas. They can also perform a mentoring role, take on a new task within their current roles, or get involved in a team project that is outside their area of expertise.

Our people agenda, and working the Weston Way are the key ingredients to helping our people grow a great career with GWF.
